Playa Vista

A tech titan in the making. Known for its easy access to LAX, Playa Vista has recently become a hot spot for technology investing with Google, Yahoo, and others developing company campuses. The area includes many marshy areas and was once home to the Tongva people. Howard Hughes bought the site in the 1940s and constructed Hughes Airport and large hangars for his aircraft company. The Spruce Goose was built in Playa Vista before being moved to Long Beach for its single historic flight.

Real Estate:  Playa Vista real estate includes many new developments offering single-family, townhome, and condominium living. The recent influx of business development has also created a wellspring of new housing options. Playa Vista’s new neighborhoods are being constructed along sustainable guidelines and designed for the needs of modern residents.

Community Life: The Playa Vista Sports Park includes tennis courts as well as a playground and there is also a large sports field, which hosts baseball games and other events. Transportation: Playa Vista is served by several bus routes. It offers easy access to Pacific Coast Highway. From Playa Vista it is a short and mostly flat bike ride to the coast along the Ballona Creek bike path.

Local Attractions: Playa Vista is a newer community and mostly known for the commercial activity in the area. The USC Institute for Creative Technologies in Playa Vista is another example of the type of innovation that Playa Vista is becoming known for.
